Motion In One Dimension
In this mini-project, we explored measuring calculating motion that, as the title would have you presume, moved in one dimension. This project had several different parts to it that we would investigate one at a time. In these investigations, we also studied how we can graph motion to make predictions such as, how fast it is moving, accelerating, and when it will get to a certain point. During this, we remembered 3 key ideas.
Key Idea #1: The slope of a position time graph tells us about an objects velocity.
Key Idea #2: The slope of a velocity time graph tells us about an objects acceleration.
Key Idea #3: The area under a velocity time graph (bound by axis and line) is equal to the displacement of the object.

The blue graph is a Position-Time Graph that shows what the subject's position was at a certain time.
The red graph is a Velocity-Time Graph that shows the subject's velocity at a certain time.
A man was standing still in front of his house, he started walking to the store and quickly grabbed a keg of Red Bull. He then started walking back while drinking it. He started feeling weird and started to slow down until he completely stoped, dropped the empty keg, and moving forward, stopped ran back, slowed down, stopped, sprinted forward, slowed down fast, stopped and ran back until he passed his house, ran back and crashed on his doorstep. Blame it on the Red Bull.

Distance, Rate, Time, Investigation
In this investigation, we had to find out how long an unknown distance was without measuring it. Instead, we had one person in our group try to walk known distances at a constant speed. We then estimated their rate as they were walking the unknown distance so we could calculate an estimation for what it may be. whoever had the closest estimation, won the competition.
Ring around investigation
In this investigation, we compared measuring the diameter of a lid and creating a ring of either cheerios or beans around the edge of the lid. With those 2 variables, we were able to create a table and graph of our results.
Race Track Game
This game didn't actually involve any real life race cars or a video game. But it was a game you play with paper and a pencil. The goal was the same and involved calculating the fastest way to get around a track while taking a car's physical limitations into the equation. For example, The car has to accelerate and decelerate as well as brake when turning and avoid crashing into walls or other cars.
Barbie Bungee
In this investigation, our objective was to use rubber bands and a barbie doll to simulate and bungee jump. The competition aspect of it was to get the doll as close as possible to the ground without hitting it. We started out by making measurements to find out how much distance rubber bands will allow thedoll to drop before it sends it back up.
