In this project, we learned about the 7 elements of art: Line, Shape, Form, Space, Value, and Color. We took each of these elements are expressed each one on a side of the cube.
Line: Lines are what make up a piece of art. They create the different parts of the painting and their boldness or invisibility creates the style of the artist and mood of the piece. Shape: Shape is what lines create. It is how each part of a piece is built. The shape of things can represent emotion or style. Form: Form is what makes shapes three dimensional. Form is what gives shape depth and is unusually shown through shading. Space: Space is what is in between shapes. it can be used to make a picture more crowded, spacious and some artists use negative space to create an entirely new shape. Value: Value is how strong or light color and lines are in a shape or form. more value is what makes things pop and can "burn" an image into your head. Color: Color can be used to represent emotion or tone of subjects and backgrounds. |
